Case Study: Invoke Studio — SEO, Ads, and Consulting
How ongoing SEO, ad management, structured data, and DNS work for Invoke Studio more than doubled their top-3 keyword count, lifted domain rating by 9 points, and landed the #2 spot for 'yoga classes Indianapolis' in six months.
The Client
Invoke Studio is Indianapolis's premier yoga, pilates, and wellness center, running classes across multiple locations plus an on-demand video platform for members at home. The studio has a loyal local following and a packed class schedule, but before we started work together they were undersized in organic search compared to competitors pulling in casual Indianapolis-area searchers.
The Engagement
We began work in August 2025 with a comprehensive SEO audit and then shifted into a monthly retainer covering ongoing SEO optimization, Google Ads management, Meta ad coordination with their agency of record, JSON-LD structured data implementation via our JsonLD.io platform, and DNS/infrastructure fixes as they came up. No redesign, no rebuild — purely marketing and technical optimization on the existing site.
The Numbers (Aug 2025 → Apr 2026)
+133% growth in top-3 keyword rankings. Keywords ranking in the top 3 on Google grew from 6 to 14 in six months.
#2 for "yoga classes Indianapolis". Climbed from #10 to #2 on one of the highest-intent local queries in the market.
+19 positions on "pilates Indianapolis". Moved from #22 to #3 on a keyword with ~600 monthly searches. That's page three to top three.
Domain rating 29 → 38. An all-time high, driven by cleaner on-page signals and organic backlinks from the work we did.
+39.7% monthly organic traffic. From 519 to 725 monthly organic visitors — with estimated traffic value up roughly 60% over the same window.
Branded keywords: #1, holding. All core branded queries ("invoke studio", "invoke yoga", variants) firmly in the #1 spot, where they stay.
What We Actually Did
On-page SEO and content
We started with the full-site audit — 15+ pages rewritten with better titles, meta descriptions, and H1 tags targeting the queries their local audience actually searches. We produced keyword research tailored to each service line (yoga, pilates, prenatal classes, wellness, teacher training) and delivered monthly reports with specific copy and content recommendations the Invoke team could action or ask us to implement. When their in-house team added 131 alt tags to images via an Airtable workflow we set up, the alt-tag coverage alone moved several pages out of image-search obscurity.
Google Ads and Meta campaigns
We managed the Google Ads account and coordinated Meta campaigns with Invoke's creative partner for three major promotions: a New Year membership push, Reformer Pilates promotions, and their Yoga Teacher Training enrollment drive. Campaigns were targeted to the studio's older-skewing demographic with conversion-oriented creative, not awareness fluff. We also audited and killed expired promos still burning budget — including an old scholarship ad that had outlived its window.
JSON-LD structured data via JsonLD.io
We used our own JsonLD.io platform to automate structured data for events, classes, and local business info across the site. After launch, Google Search Console started pulling more events into rich results, improving visibility for class schedules and special sessions. When Google flagged a missing 'location' field on the Events schema, we resolved it the same day.
DNS and infrastructure
When their on-demand video platform at invokestudioondemand.com went dark and members couldn't log in, we diagnosed two DNS issues at Namecheap: conflicting A and AAAA records coexisting with a CNAME on the www subdomain, and a root A record pointing to the wrong IP. Both fixed same-day, access restored.
Why It Worked
Three things. First, we weren't doing 'SEO in a vacuum' — the structured data, ad campaigns, and technical fixes all reinforced each other, so Google saw a site that was cleaner, better described, and more authoritative every month. Second, the Invoke team was responsive — when we recommended alt text, H1 rewrites, or schedule data updates, they made the changes or asked us to. Third, we focused spend on queries with real local intent instead of chasing vanity traffic. '#2 for yoga classes Indianapolis' converts. 'Rank for what is yoga' doesn't.
The Takeaway for Other Studios
If you run a yoga, pilates, or wellness studio in a mid-size US city and you're not in the top 3 for your core geo+service queries, there's room to move — usually without a redesign. On-page optimization, structured data, and cleaner ad spend move the needle faster than most studios expect. You don't need to out-authority Yoga Journal. You need to out-authority the dozen other studios in your ZIP code.
